Magnesium Plating

Master Finish Company’s metal plating services now include a process that permits plating on a specific magnesium alloy. Master Finish, in partnership with MacDermid Industrial Solutions, has developed a process for plating the AM-Lite^® magnesium alloy from advanced magnesium technologies. Magnesium’s light weight, combined with its strength and durability, make it a very desirable metal in many applications, but until now, magnesium components could not be plated effectively.

Master Finish Company is now able to plate the AM-Lite magnesium alloy with copper, nickel, and chrome. The current high cost of zinc metal is making AM-Lite a cost-effective alternative.
